I love this series. What you are commentating on is from an adults perspective. Remember this show was meant for teens. The Scene where The Captain was thrown overboard, I think it was meant to be funny as opposed to that of Azula. Avatar was a series which showed growth of a teenager who doesn't realise the weight of the hopes being placed on him. And IMO, it has been done fantastically.

This was probably one of the only cool scenes in the movie. Yes of course the show did everything better but sticking to this movie alone id say this was pretty cool despite all the other shit in it. Edit: im talking bout the first 30 seconds of this video not so much everything after it lol. The biggest crime is they didnt even attemp zuko‘s hair transformation and just gave him book 2 hair. I cant wait the first one was my favourite movie of all time. THE TRAILER LOOKS SO GOOD, THE TRAILER LITERALLY LOOKS AWESOME, IT MAKES YOU HAPPY, IT FILLS YOU WITH HOPE, IT GETS YOU REALLY EXCITED FOR THE ACTUAL MOVIE THAT YOU CAN'T EVEN WAIT. BUT AFTER YOU GO TO THE CINEMA ALL EXCITED AND PAY FOR THE MOVIE, THE BEST SEATS, POPCORN, DRINKS, SWEETS, CHOCOLATE, NACHOS, COFFEE, ICE CREAM AND THE TEAAA(You can't forget the tea when watching Avatar, like what. BASICALLY EVERYTHING BECAUSE YOU'RE IN SUCH A GOOD MOOD AND CAN'T WAIT BECAUSE THE OF THE TRAILER, HAND THE GUY A 50 AND TELL HIM TO KEEP THE CHANGE BECAUSE OF HOW HAPPY YOU ARE THAT YOU'RE BELOVED SHOW IS FINALLY ON THE SCREENS WITH AN EPIC TRAILER, BUT THEN YOU ACTUALLY GO TO THE MOVIE... If he really want to know how Appa can fly its more less just putting two and two together. Perhaps Appa can airbend as well since he is native to the air nomands. What ticked me off is that they couldn't even pronounce Aang's name right... 🙄🙄 smh. Frick yeah. I absolutely love this show. Join me and we could rule the ga that killed me. I remember being so excited when this movie came out. Then I watched it and they couldn't even pronounce Aang's name right! I was so mad. My dad thought it was ok, so I had to list everything wrong with it. Which pretty much is that it even exists.

Fire: Indian Earth: Chinese Water: white person Air: white person. Being honest, I think the Animated Version is 1000000000+ better. This one is more. well, its a bit weird. First of all Katara and Sokka are not white lol. Anyway, its ok. just not the best realistic version. 😁😁😁. Watch Stream O teleftaios mahitis tou anémotel. It pisses me off how many time Aangs name is pronounced wrong. Awesome music though. The poorly directed, lazily written, terribly shot, poorly acted, clumsily edited, oddly paced, INSULTING adaptation - Nailed it. Cried laughing. I know this is an old one, but it's one of your best I honestly cant stop watching it...

The original Avatar: The Last Airbender animated series is the rare kind of fantasy fiction ostensibly aimed at kids which can also be enjoyed by adults - like The Hobbit (the book, not the tiresome movie trilogy. The Nickelodeon saga ran for three seasons full of compelling storylines and vivid characters.
So, how does a director whose increasingly shaky reputation hinged on thrillers adapt in 90 minutes the entire first season of an adventure/fantasy series?
Badly.
I have never been a huge fan of M. Night (although I really liked Unbreakable) but usually even his flawed films (say, Signs or The Village) have something interesting about them. This one is worthless though.
Writing is leaden and ponderous; the voice-over by Katara (Nicola Peltz) in particular, is one of the most overwritten, insufferable narrations I recall in a major production. In spite of all the yammering, the exposition is so inefficient that the series' rich lore and world-building are mercilessly castrated: the result is a generic, shallow fantasy setting.
(To be fair, the first season was challenging to adapt because of its episodic structure; the second and third have more forward momentum.
While M. Night has never been a great writer (The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable notwithstanding) he does have visual talent. Unfortunately, he is not a strong ACTION director - a limit he is probably smart enough to realize, since both his superhero movie (Unbreakable) and his alien invasion movie (Signs) featured *one* fight scene each. He could not write around this limit here, since The Last Airbender relies heavily on action. The result is a string of set-pieces ranging from bland to ridiculous.
In the series, bending. a mix between martial arts and magic employed to command elements (water, earth, fire, air. was visually effective and precise, with each elemental effect corresponding to a quick, clear body movement. This connection is lost in the movie, where characters gesticulate wildly and flail limbs around to produce comically tiny results; it takes six people performing a choreographed dance to make a medium-sized rock float (in the animated series, characters toss boulders around with a flick of the wrist. It's pathetic, the kind of stuff which gives fantasy a bad name.
Still, the original sin of this film is how the story is better fit for animation rather than live-action and for a series rather than a movie. I can understand the appeal of adapting, say, a book into a film. but here the story has *already* been told in a visual medium, very well and with more time for subplots and character arcs than you can possibly have in a movie. So. what was the point, again?

Watch Stream O teleftaios mahitis tou anemones. Saw it in theaters when it came out with some buddies that also loved the show. No lie the entire theater was packed essentially with people who watched the show. Easy to tell by the line to get in No one in the theater enjoyed it. At a certain point everyone in the theater made fun of it as we all watched it. Super bonding time The biggest thing out of every mistake the movie made was the damn pronunciation of Aangs name. Like how hard was that to get so wrong? That was chief complaint amongst everyone there Edit: we were genuinely excited. What a terrible missed opportunity at recreating a great show into a fantastic movie you'd actually like to watch again and again.
